Highways Vegetation Clearance requires a high level of safety for both workforce and road users together with an awareness of the ecological issues that can arise when disturbing habitats.
During 2010 we have undertaking Tree Works and Ground Clearance along the main A14 working closely with Ecologist on the site to prevent disturbing any protected animals/mammals and in particular any Bats or nesting birds.
For further information about Wildside’s Ecology Services click here.
The works have involved sectioning trees, removing large logs from site and chipping smaller branches and pieces to leave as a mulch.
In addition to clearance work Wildside sprayed and strimmed areas overgrown with Hawthorns and Brambles and weeded surrounding areas.
All Wildside site staff are supported by an ongoing programme of training, and Wildside can provide the following approvals:
- Environmental specialist
- Climbers
- Chainsaw Operatives
- Fencers
- Welders & Fabricators
Where appropriate, operatives have specific certifications (chainsaw users) and support skills (qualified first-aiders). All operatives carry their relevant certificates and passes at all times for health and safety inspection and site access.
